aglehawk Angus is a family run enterprise consisting of Stud Angus females and a commercial herd run in the New England Tablelands of NSW Australia. Our roots are deeply entrenched in the commercial cattle business, so our focus as a Seedstock Producer is made easier as we are constantly dealing with the realities of our industry.
The reality is to breed cattle that are economical to manage, rear a calf every year without assistance and with optimum traits so that our clients have the fullest access to the range of markets available.
The Eaglehawk Angus team utilises all available technology and the very best of genetics to breed Angus cattle.Females are the core of our business here at Eaglehawk Angus. We have gone to great lengths to put together a very functional herd. At Eaglehawk the cowherd are exceptionally fertile, efficient, and easy fleshing cows with more than adequate milk. They are feminine above all. We believe a feminine cow will throw a masculine bull. We join young (14 months) and cull rigorously. All cows and heifers are pregnancy tested and those who fail to carry are culled. We do not cull for age. We believe the older cow that is still meeting all your requirements will breed longevity into the herd. Our cows are run under commercial conditions, and no exceptions are made for poor performances. Eaglehawk does not carry on the non-productive females, as this will only cause infertility in the herd. We have chosen to use Embryo Transfer to maximise our Elite genetics. The ET programs have allowed us to choose the very best cows and fast track their offspring.
